The People’s Law Library of Maryland provides information on Maryland and Federal law affecting low- and moderate-income Marylanders and their families. The public can find help using this site at outreach centers and law libraries throughout the state.

VIRGINIA:

Legal Services of Northern Virginia  is a public interest law firm with full-time staff that provides free legal assistance to low-income residents of Northern Virginia. Main office: (703) 778-6800 Please visit their site to fill out an intake form and learn more.

Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia provides free legal services to low income residents of Accomack, Chesapeake, Gloucester, Hampton, James City, Mathews, Middlesex, Newport News, Norfolk, Northampton, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg and Yorktown. Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley provides free civil legal assistance to residents of the Roanoke Valley area, which includes Roanoke, Salem, Lexington, Covington, Clifton Forge, Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, Alleghany, Rockbridge and Bath. Coordinates with Blue Ridge Legal Services. Call (540) 344-2080.

Blue Ridge Legal Services provides aid for the Shenandoah and Roanoke Valley areas with offices in Winchester (800) 678-5021, Harrisonburg (800) 237-0141, Lexington (540) 463-7334, and Roanoke (866) 534-5243.

Rappahannock Legal Services is a non-profit corporation that provides free, high-quality, civil legal assistance to low income individuals and families. There are three offices located in Fredericksburg, Tappahannock, and Culpeper.
